Topical Preparations

Fungal conditions that benefit from external applications include athlete's foot, ringworm, jock itch, nail fungi, and various yeasts and molds that tend to favor warm, moist places that do not have much exposure to ambient air. This can include underarms and the inside of the elbows and back of the knees as well as places that make contact with elastic bands or other tight fitting garments. Fungal infections can be itchy, sometimes burning, or slimmy. They can also cause skin to flake off or smell bad. Children are particularly susceptible to fungal ear infections because studies show that pillows are often home to aspergillus. Washing bedding frequently and using pillow cases that wick away moisture will reduce some of the risk of infection.

Lavender Therapeutic Quality Essential Oil

Lavender, Therapeutic Quality Essential Oil, 5 ml.
Lavendula angustifolia

Lavender is one of the best known essential oils. It was added to bath water in Roman times and is associated with both cleanliness and deeper forms of hygiene, such as wound care, including serious abscesses. It is antispasmodic and soothing and is believed to lower high blood pressure and relieve headaches. It is non-toxic and non-irritating and blends well with lemon and peppermint when taken to reduce spasms and relax nerves.

Lavender essential oil can be added to shampoo and/or conditioner — approximately one drop per ounce — as well as to ice cream, cheesecake, and rice pudding and many other culinary dishes. It imparts nuance and interest and lengthens the shelf life of the foods, but a little is better than too much.

Contents: certified organic steam distilled essential oil of Lavendula angustifolia from Bulgaria.

Tulsi Ear Oil

Tulsi Ear Oil, 1 oz.
Ocimum sanctum

Tulsi Ear Oil was formulated in response to research showing that pillows were found to have aspergillus mold after 18 months or less of use. Many people have itchy ears or other unpleasant sensations. Tulsi is very calming but this oil may stimulate reactions in the sinuses and throughout the head for 20-30 minutes after use. This is why it is suggested that people do not use the oil simultaneously in both ears.

Contents: proprietary blend of Verbascum thapsus flower in organic cold pressed olive oil with essential oil of holy basil.
